We're going back to the start...

Today's our 11th month together. We've been through a lot, I must say.

We've been through tough times... But for the benefit of me not getting beaten-up once I remind you of my past shortcomings, let's not enumerate them here. :-P

We've had good times too! And I'd like to think we have more of them than the not-so-good ones! And I dare say, that the best times of my life were the ones I shared with you! (awwwwwww, insert rainbows and puppies here)

Every month, we celebrate this special day. We eat something fancy, watch some movie, go to a new place, or try different things.

This time, 1 month before our landmark first year together, I'd like to go back and reminisce on how all of this craziness began.

Let's give tribute to the things and places that made us who we are now. And recall and relive the simple things that made this wonderful relationship the way it is now.

Happy 11th monthsary fey, enjoy your double cheeseburger. :-P

love u!

Pasensya na po kung suplada ako ngayon...

Pasensya na po at super OT ako today at halos di kita pinansin buong araw...

Busy lang po talaga sa work...

Ito ata ang first time since nagkasama tayo na hindi ako naka-kiss goodnight syo before sleeping... I'm so sorry... :(

I'm Sorry
sung by Jaime Rivera

I can see it in your eyes
There's a certain sadness
Was it me who made you cry
Oh please won't you tell me why
Was it something that I said
Or maybe how I reacted
Please don't make it hard for me
'Cause i'm willing to say i'm sorry

REFRAIN:
I'm sorry if i'm always out of sight
Or fail to kiss you goodnight
I never meant to leave you
I'm sorry if i've taken you for granted
For the crazy things i've said
I'm sorry I should have loved you instead

I can tell it with your smile
I know you're hurtin' inside
Will you ever forgive me
If I tell you that I am sorry

REFRAIN

gusto ko lang sabihin...

For two weeks I won't be able to freely show or say what I truly feel for you...

So dito na lang muna... :P

Well, actually, wala namang bago. Mahal na mahal pa din kita, gaya ng mga nakaraang araw, pro malamang mas mahal pa kita ngayon, at malamang mas mahal pa kita bukas at sa mga susunod na mga araw. (cheezy...)

Yun lang po. Bow.

What she knows, what I planned, and what happened...

Last week, on the eve of my birthday, I invited Red to go out on a date. This was only our 2nd "official romantic date", since all the other times we hung-out, technically, weren't considered as "dates".

I wanted it to be very special, so I planned that day very carefully.

What she knows:
1. I'll accompany her to buy stuff at Bugis street.
2. We'll have dinner at Taste Restaurant in Ibis Hotel since it's also in Bugis.
3. We'll hang-out at our place 'til 12mn so she'll be the first one to greet me on my birthday.

But I have different things in mind....

What I plan on doing:
1. Book a room in Ibis Hotel.
2. Tell her I'm coming from the office, but instead I'll go to check-in to the hotel room to prepare it for our date.
3. Buy roses, candles, drinks, and grapes (her favorite).
4. Go back to the hotel room to put the rose petals on the bed and set-up the candles in the room.
5. Accompany her to buy stuff at Bugis street "after office".
6. Have dinner together at Taste Restaurant in Ibis Hotel.
7. After dinner, I'll go to the toilet of the restaurant to "set-up" my story for later.
8. Go out of the restaurant and proceed to buy things we'll need for the night.
9. Pretend that I lost the access card to the condo and tell her we should go back to the restaurant.
10. Go back to the restaurant and pretend to look for the access card in the toilet.
11. Talk to the front desk and pretend that they asked me to go to the 13th floor in the "admin office"
12. Leave my wallet with Red in the lobby while I go up to the "admin office".
13. Go to the 13th floor, to the room I booked, and light up the candles, play the playlist I created just for this day in my laptop, close the room lights.
14. Rush back to the lobby and tell her that I need my ID which is in the wallet I gave her (#12) in order to claim the access card I lost.
15. Both of us will take the lift to the 13th floor and then I'll lead her to the "admin office" (aka the room I booked)
16. Once she realizes the surprise, I'll hug her and give an eloquent "speech" on how much I love her.

But this is real life, and not all things will go as planned...

What really happened...
1. Yellow was very sad and asked if me and Red could meet her for dinner. I hesitated a bit, but it seemed that Yellow needed us at that time. So we planned to have the dinner, still at Taste, but this time with Yellow. So much for romantic dinner! -- FAIL!
2. I went to the hotel to book the room.
3. I went to Plaza Singapura to buy a ginormous Tweety stuffed toy, flowers, candles, drinks, and grapes. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the candles I wanted, so I just settled for the tealight candles. The supermarket also didn't have a lighter! -- FAIL!
4. I rushed to the flower shop to buy roses, the guy in front of me was taking forever to talk to the sales lady. I picked up 2 red roses and 1 white. In my haste, I didn't realize that I picked-up plastic flowers!!! -- FAIL!
5. On my way back to the hotel, I received an urgent call from one of our platforms in Australia. I had to rush back to the room to check on the issue! -- FAIL!
6. The hotel internet was acting up, but thankfully I had my mobile internet dongle with me. To make matters worst, there was issue in the VPN access in the platform. Instead of doing the workaround myself, I had to instruct the people onsite, which took forever!!! -- FAIL!
7. It was already getting late, halfway through my issue, I called Red to tell her that I won't be able to make it on time. Red was not very happy about it. -- FAIL!
8. While waiting for the onsite people to confirm the issue as solved, I proceed to get the petals from the roses so that I can scatter the petals in the bed. This is when I discovered that the roses were fake! -- FAIL!
9. I wash the grapes I bought from the supermarket, and realized that they were "seedful!" -- FAIL!
10. I went out of the hotel to find real roses. It was already almost 8.30pm, and there was no flower shop nearby. So I decided to just use the fake rose petals... madilim naman sa room, hopefully, di halata... :P -- FAIL!
11. The issue was almost near being solved, I call Red, and she just doesn't want to go out anymore. Nawala daw sya sa mood. -- FAIL!
12. I call Yellow to tell her that the dinner is cancelled. She didn't sound like she's sad, in fact she sounded pretty bubbly and happy. At this point, I was starting to lose it. -- FAIL!
12. I got the confirmation that the issue is solved. I call Red to tell her I'm already on my way to their place. Ayaw na daw talaga nya. At that point, I just broke-down. -- FAIL!
13. Naawa ata si Red dahil naiiyak na ako, she said that we can have dinner as originally planned. This is where things finally went right for me.
14. I took a cab to Tampines with the huge Tweety stuffed toy with me.
15. Once I reach their place, I apologized for being late, and she apologized for being pissed about it.
16. We got dinner at Taste Restaurant in Ibis Hotel as originally planned, just the two of us.
17. I went to the toilet of the restaurant to "set-up" my "lost access card" story.
18. We got out of the restaurant and proceeded to buy things we'll need for the night.
19. I pretended that I lost the access card to the condo and told her we should go back to the restaurant, because I probably dropped it there.
20. We went back to the restaurant and pretended to look for the access card.
21. I went to the front desk and pretended that they asked me to go to the 13th floor in the "admin office"
22. I left my wallet with Red in the lobby while I went up to the "admin office".
23. I went to the 13th floor, to the room I booked, and lighted up the candles, played the playlist I created just for this day in my laptop, and closed the room lights.
24. I rushed back to the lobby and told her that I needed my ID which is in the wallet I gave her (#22) in order to claim the access card I lost.
25. We took the lift to the 13th floor and then I lead her to the "admin office" (aka the room I booked)
26. The reaction from her face was so priceless that the "speech" I prepared vanished from memory... hanep talaga memory gap ko!

The day was so stressful and so tiring, but the moment I saw the look on her face, it was all worth it! It felt so great that even though a lot of things went wrong and didn't go as planned, in the end, it was still so special because I spent it with her.

The Great Bintan Escape...part 2!

Day 2: Feb 2, Sunday

Me and Red woke up early the next day, Sunday, since we got a lot of things planned for the day.

We prepared to get breakfast from Spice, and on our way, we snapped some photos... Adik din sa pictures yung kasama ko... :P

Now that's how you start a good morning!

"Chalet Guide" by the beach

The breakfast at Spice is buffet-style, so syempre PG-moment na naman for me. (Kaya hindi ako pumapayat e... hehehe)

Ang sarap naman... nung breakfast. :P

After the hearty meal, we went back to the chalet to put on some sunblock.

Yep, that's her real name... Isn't this the best way to know someone's real name? :D

Once we've put on enough sunblock, we decided to walk around the beach, and syempre, picture-picture! :P

The chalets

The beach

The beach uli

Batang naglalaro sa beach

Nag-e-emote?

The two reasons why I love Bintan: the hammock, and the person sitting on it. :P yikeeeeee...

Yey! Finally removes the cover :)

hmmmnnnn... a much more "interesting" shot of the beach... :D

Excuse me miss, maalon ba sa labas???

Relaxing by the shore

Pati kayak, di pinalagpas! :P

All that buffet-eating and beach-walking exhausted us, so after a few more minutes, we decided we needed wash-up and rest. (Buhay-baboy lang... :P)

By 12, we checked out of the resort, and then booked a 2.5-hour couple massage treatment in Aura Spa at Pasar Oleh Oleh. The package included a massage, body scrub, sauna, and body lotion, in short, 2.5-hours of mindless pampering. I need more of these... :P

kahit san, basta may camera, mag-po-pose at mag-po-pose talaga! :D hehehe...

(off-topic! in fairness, I didn't burst-out laughing when they started massaging me, as initially expected from my hyper-ticklish body)

After the massage, it was time to head to the ferry terminal.

We reached the ferry terminal and bought some souvenir items there, since we didn't have time to buy them elsewhere. We also had our very late lunch / very early dinner at the terminal. Thankfully, we booked the Emerald class on the way back to Singapore, so we were able to hang-around the Executive Lounge.

Sorry, Emerald Class passengers only... :P

After a few more minutes of waiting, and we're finally boarding!

I'm not so sure if it's because of the better seats or the better sea conditions or both... but Red didn't puke this time around! Yey! We slept most of the time we were in the ferry, so that might have helped aswell.

Ferry Ride back to Singapore... before sleeping :P

After 50 minutes, and we're back in SG... Back to work! and back to real life!
I already miss the hammock... hehehe...

The Great Bintan Escape...

Isang gabi, habang magkausap sa phone:

Me: gusto kong mag-beach...
Red: tingin ako ng flights to Phuket?
Me: hmmnn... Bintan na lang kaya? para malapit lang.
Red: sige...

And thus, that weekend itself... may dalawang batang pasaway na sumakay ng ferry papuntang Bintan!
...

Day 1: Feb 6, Saturday

Red has work until 1pm during Saturdays, so I picked her up at her office in Changi North after work. From there we head straight to their flat to drop my stuff and buy provisions for the trip.

Afraid that we'd be late for our scheduled ferry ride, we head to the Ferry Terminal early. We shared a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup for lunch and proceeded to wait for boarding...

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your normal reading for a blog-first! For the first time in this blog's history... may I present... (drum-roll)Red:

While waiting for boarding...

At around 5:00pm, we were already called in to board the ferry.

This is my 3rd time going to Bintan, and I've got to say, this has got to be the bumpiest ferry ride I've been in! It was so bumpy, Red felt woozy and puked during the trip. According to her, it's her first time to do that on a trip (should I be flattered that it happened with me? :P)

After about 50 minutes, we arrive in Bintan ferry terminal. A resort crew was there to assist us and pointed us to the correct bus.

While in the bus to Mayang Sari Beach Resort

After a few minutes in the bus, we arrive at my favorite resort in Bintan, The Mayang Sari Beach resort. We got the sea view chalet, which has a great view of the beach.

View from the chalet

Inside the chalet

It was already late in the afternoon, so we just rested for quite a while, cleaned-up, and proceeded to have some dinner.

Dinner at Spice Restaurant

Playing with the iPhone before dinner

Sambal Seafood

The Ginormous Grilled Ribs

Just how big are those ribs??? Observe...

They're as big as Red's head!
Takaw!!! hehehe... peace!

After dinner we walked around and finally settled in the hammock in front of our chalet. If there is one thing I love about Mayang Sari, it's this hammock and it's location near the sea. It's so serene, especially during night time.

We laid on the hammock and talked about random and funny things...
"Charge it to the hammock, please..."
That was my favorite part of the whole trip. We were just soooo happy and comfortable with each other. If there was one moment in my life where time can just stand still, I wish it was that... lying there beside her, underneath the stars (cheeeeezzzzzy...)

Thus ends Day 1.

first "no overnight" weekend of the year...

This is the first weekend of the year na hindi nag stay overnight sa bahay sila Red at Yellow... Sadness...

Better Together...

Better Together

There's no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a, shoebox of photographs
With sepiatone loving
Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
Sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing it's always better when we're together

[Chorus:]
MMM it's always better when we're together
Yeah, we'll look at them stars when we're together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

And all of these moments
Just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone
When the morning light sings
And brings new things
For tomorrow night you see
That they'll be gone too
Too many things I have to do
But if all of these dreams might find their way
Into my day to day scene
I'd be under the impression
I was somewhere in between
With only two
Just me and you
Not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be
We'll Sit beneath the mango tree now

It's always better when we're together
Mmmm, we're somewhere in between together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

MMmmmm MMMmmmm Mmmmmm
I believe in memories
They look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
You look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no, combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We're better together.

nakaka-lerki ka uncle!

Yesterday morning, hinatid ko si Red to work. Sumakay kame ng taxi na ang driver ay medyo may katandaan na. The travel in general was fine, medyo traffic ng konti, so we anticipated na mala-late si Red ng few minutes. So overall, nothing peculiar that morning.

...Not until dumating na kame sa destination...

Nung pababa na si Red ng taxi, she kissed me good bye sa cheeks. Aba, itong si uncle, napasigaw...

Old Uncle: "haaaayoo..." (typical Singapore expression...hehehe)
Red: "Why, uncle?"
Me: (natatawa sa expression ni uncle...pasalamat ka nga uncle, sa cheeks lang! pano pa kaya kung sa lips?!?! baka atakihin ka na sa puso??)
Old Uncle: "Two girls can kiss ah??"
Me: "hahaha... yes, uncle, it's normal. it's just in the cheeks. we're friends lah"
Red: (natatawa na lang din habang pababa)

Naiwan ako sa taxi. At habang palabas na kame ni Uncle sa compound...

Old Uncle: "you girlfriends?"
(intrigero ka uncle ah)
Me: "No uncle, we're just friends"
(friends nga ba tyo, Red???)
Old Uncle: "is your friend married?"
Me: "No uncle, why?"
Old Uncle: "Ah, I want to marry her"
('nak ng tokwa ka uncle! balak mo pa akong agawan?!? kaya ka pala tingin ng tingin sa likod! at talagang "marry" agad ah...)
Me: "Ah, but she's already taken uncle."
(hahaha... binakuran ko agad???)
Old Uncle: "Because my wife passed already. 4 years now."
Me: "Ah, sorry to hear that uncle"
Old Uncle: "Do you have any other friends?"
Me: "friends? who would want to marry you, uncle?"
Old Uncle: "Yes"
Me: "No uncle."
(madami akong friends na single, uncle, pro I don't think they'll want to marry you! hehehe...)
Old Uncle: "How about you? Are you married?"
(tokwa... mukhang desperado si uncle, pati ako pinag-i-interasan na...)
Me: "Yes, uncle, I'm already married!"

cooking my way to be her...maid??? :P

As many of my friends know, I don't cook, and I have no whatsoever intention of learning how to (due to previous failed attempts... hehehe).

Although in college, I usually cook fried rice with random ingredients (from canned stuff), but that really doesn't count as cooking. It's more like heating stuff to make them more edible so that me and my housemates won't die of hunger.

Anyway, as I was saying, I have no intention of learning the art of cooking. I mean, why bother learning how to cook, when you can just marry someone who knows how to? Right? :P So I'll just marry someone who can cook for me, and everything will be okay. :D

I was under the impression that most women know how to cook. Or at least would want to learn how to. Unfortunately, Red is not one of them.

Me and Red are so "compatible", that we are living on the same "let them cook for me" principle. In short, if we really do end up together, we'll die of hunger (in each other's arms, of course... yikee) or thrive on fast food. (which will eventually lead to early death)

And so to prevent our early death, I've taken the task of learning how to cook real food. (O.A. no? hehehe)

I decided to cook Sinigang for my first attempt (ambitious much?). With Donna's help, we managed to pull it off (I think, considering there were no casualties out of the people who ate the dish :P)

My brother, his wife, Yellow, Red, and Donna were the guinea pigs. As of post time, there have been no reported cases of LBM. :P

And according to Red... pwede na daw...pwede na daw akong maging katulong. :P bwaahahaha...

the redeeming factor...

I woke-up today not feeling so good. I think all the late-night activities is taking a toll on my body... (signs of old age? :P)

To add to the crappy feelings for today, I found out that Red will be going out to dinner with some other person. grrrrr.... (possessive much? :P)

Then I had a fight with Yellow in YM because of some stupid movie schedule of New Moon. (soooooo immature!!!)

But one thing redeemed this day from the shitholes... TheHotOne asked if I wanted to watch a movie with her after work. :D

Singapore nights aren't usually this interesting...

Yesterday started out pretty well.

I had to wake up around 7am, in spite sleeping very late the night before, because I had to accompany Red to the LG service center in Alexandra Road to get her roommate's serviced laptop.

After getting the laptop, we decided to go to Vivo City to have lunch and watch a movie (Beyond a Reasonable Doubt) The movie sucked ass, by the way.

We just decided to go around the mall before we went to Singapore Polo Club(again!) to meet up with Yellow, TheHotOne, and TheHotOne's friends for dinner and a few rounds of beer.

We arrived at around 8pm at SPC. A band was playing, or more accurately, a duo. Two girls, 1 with a guitar, the other with a violin, both of them singing. The girl playing the violin looks and sounds like Barbie Almalbis. Can you just imagine my sheer excitement when TheHotOne introduced me to the Barbie-Almalbis-Singaporean-Clone after their set?! OMG I'm smitten... :P

Anyway, the night was going very well, until TheHotOne's ex-girlfriend (PsychoEx) "dropped-by" to talk to her. Apparently, they broke-up about a month ago, but PsychoEx just can't let go and is harassing her almost everyday to ask her to come back to her. Jeez... and I thought I was psychotic?! This girl's on a whole new level of crazy.

We thought that after a few minutes of talking between PsychoEx and TheHotOne, that that was the end of it. We're so dead-wrong.

As we were walking out of the place to have some coffee in Plaza Singapura, PsychoEx quickly followed TheHotOne. PsychoEx pulled TheHotOne's shoulders and slapped her in the face. WTF?! (Yes, slapping her in the face really tells her that you love her... Moron!)

We rushed to the scene to stop further damage. One of TheHotOne's friends wanted to beat the crap out of PyschoEx, but the rest of us managed to stop her. There was shouting and a lot of expletives thrown in the air, and TheHotOne was crying in one corner... it's like being stuck in some drama series on TV.

An old guy was driving by and he pulled over and tried to be the mediator in the situation. I on the other hand started calling 117 (emergency police number)

After about 10minutes, the police was there. We gave statements and so did PyschoEx. It was so surreal. Strangely enough, we weren't really worried to much. Most of us were actually making jokes about the situation. (Pinoy talaga! :P)

After about 30minutes, the police asked us to go our separate ways. PsychoEx went home, and the rest of us still went to Plaza Sing for coffee.

TheHotOne was still pretty shaken up with what just happened. The worst thing about all of this is that they work in the same place! Now that's just shitty...

At around 1.30am, after coffee and recapping all of the night's excitement, we all decided to go home. Red however, can only go home after 2.30am, because her roommate was not yet home and she forgot the keys to their flat.

So I just went with her to Tampines, (yes, all the way to the end of Singapore!) to the 24-hour McCafe near their block to accompany her as she waited for her rommie. After about an hour, I was already pretty sleepy. Red was searching for her other phone in her bag, much to her surprise, her house keys were in her bag all along! Whatthe...

So I walked her over to their flat and I FINALLY went back home. FINALLY.

I crashed the bed pretty hard... That night was just too much for someone who just had 3hours of sleep. :)

holy hotness...

I just got back from dinner/drinking session with Red, Yellow, and Yellow's friend, which from here on out shall be referred to as TheHotOne (for lack of a more creative name). I wanted to give her a color-code as well, but no color could give her justice. She's just way to hot to be given a mere color-code... and if I may quote a line from Grey's Anatomy, (Meredith describing Callie to George)"She's hot. Dirty hot".

Can't wait to see her again tomorrow. :)
